DestinationsCastelfalfi

Castelfalfi.

Castelfalfi is a restored medieval borgo and estate set in the wooded hills near Montaione, in the quiet country between Florence, Pisa, Siena and the towers of San Gimignano. The hamlet — a castle, a church and the houses around them — was brought back over years as a single estate, with its own vineyards, its own restaurants, a golf course on the land, and a wide menu of things to do without leaving the property.

It is one of the partner estates we represent, and an unusually self-contained one: much of a week can happen on the estate itself. We arrange the villas there alongside the estate's own offering — a wine tour and tasting of its cellar, a chef in the villa, a cooking class, and a roster of family activities from archery to a bee experience.

What Castelfalfi Is

Not a town but an estate: a medieval borgo restored as a single property in the hills above the Egola valley, with vineyards and olive groves, restaurants, a golf course and walking country on its own land. Its position is part of the appeal — roughly central between Florence, Pisa and Siena, with San Gimignano and the alabaster town of Volterra both an easy drive.

Staying There, and What to Do

We arrange villas at Castelfalfi as part of the collection, with the estate's own experiences layered on: the wine tour and tasting of its cellar, a chef in the villa or the sunset dinner, a cooking class, and a full menu of family activities — archery, a bee experience, bushcraft, a climbing wall. When you do want to leave, San Gimignano, Volterra, the Chianti country and the coast are all within reach.
