Not every hour is a tasting. For families especially, the estates that work best are the ones with something for the children and the restless: a morning of archery, a bee experience among the estate's hives, bushcraft in the wood, a climbing wall for the teenagers. Several of our partner estates run a full menu of them.
Castelfalfi is the clearest example: alongside its cooking class and wine tour, the estate offers archery, a bee experience, bushcraft and a climbing wall on its own grounds. For the coast, the beach clubs of the Versilia — Alpemare among them — are an easy day out from the northern estates. We line up the days that keep a multi-generational group happy without anyone having to drive far.
On the Estate
The best of these need no travel at all: archery, the bee experience, bushcraft and the climbing wall at Castelfalfi all run on the estate's own grounds, which is exactly what you want on the day no one can face the car. We confirm what each partner estate offers and book the slots before you arrive.
A Day at the Coast
When the group wants the sea, the Versilia beach clubs — Alpemare among them — are an easy day from the northern and Lucca-area estates, and the Argentario has quiet coves and day boats on the southern coast. For something more Tuscan still, we arrange horse riding, including riding out with the butteri, the Maremma's working cowboys, at several of our southern farms.
