PlanningHow Renting Works

How renting a villa works.

Planning

The short
version.

Renting a whole estate is a different process from booking a hotel room, and a more personal one. Here is how it works with us, start to finish.

It begins with a conversation, not a checkout button. You tell us your dates, your party and the kind of week you want; one of the founders or a colleague who knows the houses replies in person, usually within a working day, with availability, full rates and a considered recommendation — including, on occasion, that none of ours is right.

In short

  • Every enquiry is answered personally, usually within a working day
  • The contract is issued directly from the villa's owner
  • Typically a 30% deposit at booking, the balance 60 days before arrival
  • Saturday-to-Saturday weekly stays, seven nights minimum
  • A property manager is on call throughout your stay

The Enquiry and the Recommendation

There is no instant booking and no algorithm. You write to us, and a real person who has been to the houses replies with availability, full rates and a recommendation shaped to the trip you have described. If the right house is not in our collection, we will say so. The aim is the right week, not the quick sale.

The Contract and the Deposit

Once the house is chosen, the rental contract is issued directly from the owner. The deposit is typically 30% at booking, with the balance due 60 days before arrival, paid by bank transfer. Cancellation terms are set by each owner and written into the contract; we recommend travel insurance and will flag anything you should know before you sign.

On the Ground

Before you arrive, we put the stay in place: a welcome provision, the housekeeping schedule, and any services you have asked for — the chef, the transfers, the experiences. During the week a property manager is on call for the house itself. The point is that the logistics are handled, and you have one number to call.
