Villa Chiusa, Castiglion del Bosco

Villa Chiusa

Castiglion del Bosco

The essence

Villa Chiusa stands just steps from the borgo, a reimagined stone villa where rustic-chic charm meets an infinity pool and wide Tuscan views. Four en-suite bedrooms sleep eight across the house and a private annex, with a pool house alongside. Close enough to walk to the resort's restaurants and spa, yet with the calm and privacy of a house entirely your own.

The distinction

Why Villa Chiusa
is in the collection.

  1. 01

Four en-suite bedrooms for eight, including a private guest annex — and a separate pool house with a kitchenette.

  2. 02

A heated infinity pool framed by views over the Val d'Orcia and the medieval borgo.

  3. 03

Steps from the borgo: the resort's dining, spa and winery on foot, your own villa to return to.

The house

Architecture & restoration

A living room with fireplace, a reading and television room, a dining room and a kitchen on the ground floor; a primary suite, a king and a twin room above; and a fourth bedroom in a guest annex. Air conditioning and touchscreen controls throughout; a fully equipped laundry room and WiFi.

The setting

Land, view, context

On the edge of the borgo, with infinity-pool views that take in both the village and the open Val d'Orcia beyond.

Living here

Wander into the borgo for dinner, or have the resort's kitchen cook at the villa; swim the infinity pool as the light fades; take the Defender out across the estate at dawn.

The estate

Part of Castiglion del Bosco.

One of thirteen private villas and suites on the five-thousand-acre Castiglion del Bosco estate, a Rosewood hotel in the UNESCO-listed Val d'Orcia near Montalcino. Houses can be taken together, and the medieval borgo — or the entire estate — reserved for exclusive use, with the resort's restaurants, spa, winery and golf club all on hand. A rare canvas for a wedding, a milestone celebration or a multi-family gathering.
