The essence
Casa Pernicella is a former Tuscan barn in the hamlet of Galenda, between Gaiole and Radda in Chianti, restored over two levels with real care. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, sit beneath beamed ceilings with terracotta floors, pastel walls and refined furnishings; French doors open everywhere to the garden. Outside are covered pergolas, a wood-fired pizza oven, a landscaped garden and a heatable saltwater infinity pool looking over vineyards and woods — a few steps from the white roads of L'Eroica.

The villa
Architecture & restoration
The ground floor holds a fully equipped kitchen with an island, a drinking-water tap for still and sparkling water and a dining table, and a lounge with sofas and a smart TV, both opening through French doors to terraces. Two bedrooms are on this floor — a double opening to the pool and a twin that converts to a double — each with its own bathroom. A spiral staircase leads to the third bedroom, a double with an en-suite bathroom and a balcony with loungers. Every room is air-conditioned, and a utility room has a washer-dryer.
