The essence

Casa dell'Erta is a three-storey stone farmhouse on the hillside facing the medieval Castello di San Polo in Rosso, restored for families and friends with a fine eye: white-painted beams, terracotta floors, travertine bathrooms and patterned wallpapers. Seven rooms with their own bathrooms sleep up to fourteen — one a junior suite adapted for guests with reduced mobility — around two living rooms, a games room and a long dining room. Outside are covered terraces, a secluded garden with a vegetable patch, a fenced 11-metre infinity pool looking straight at the castle, and a wellness annex with a sauna and Turkish bath.

The villa

Architecture & restoration

On the ground floor, a lounge with an open fire and a dining room seating twelve lead to a large kitchen with an island and a second table for thirteen; a living room here doubles as an accessible bedroom with its own adapted bathroom and dressing room. A mezzanine double opens to the garden. The first floor has a second lounge with a piano, a games room and two doubles; the second floor three more doubles, one with a bath. Every bedroom has its own bathroom — travertine, with double basins — and air conditioning. The annex holds the wellness centre, and an external laundry has a washer and dryer.
