The essence
A centuries-old villa five minutes from Tavarnelle, reached up a cypress-lined drive through gardens of oaks, olives and lemon trees in old terracotta pots — an "Under the Tuscan Sun" fantasy, renovated with traditional style and touches of luxury. Four en-suite bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes fill the main house, and a guest house adds two more for twelve in all. Below the villa there is a whole spa floor — Turkish bath, sauna and jacuzzi — a Technogym gym with a view, a billiard room with bar, and a pool with a heated jacuzzi beside a bright yellow Gullo kitchen.

Ground floor: from the veranda, a billiard room with corner bar, the main kitchen and dining room with a decorative fireplace, and a private TV room. First floor: a bright central hall with a traditional fireplace, beams and sofas, and four bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms — Martina (king, shower and hot massage tub), Glenda (queen, shower and hot massage tub), Edoardo (twins or king) and Simone (queen). The guest house has its own kitchen and dining area, a double and a twin bedroom, and a shared shower room. Lower floor: the spa — Turkish bath, sauna, jacuzzi — and a Technogym gym with panoramic windows. By the pool, a Gullo kitchen and dining room open towards the spa. Air conditioning throughout.
