The house

Architecture & restoration

Nine suites are spread across four historic towers and converted farm buildings, each with its own character and artisan-made interiors. Indoors: a vaulted wine cellar, an art gallery hung with works by internationally known artists, a spa with Jacuzzi, a cinema, a games room and a professional kitchen. A non-denominational chapel sits within the grounds.

The setting

Land, view, context

Built on a medieval priory above Magliano in Toscana, the estate looks out over the Argentario peninsula and the unspoiled Maremma to the sea. It is roughly ninety minutes from Rome Fiumicino, and a short drive from the beaches and harbours of the southern Tuscan coast.

Living here

Days run on estate time: harvest from the vegetable gardens, taste the estate's own wine and olive oil, swim in the thirty-metre heated saltwater pool as the sun drops. A Michelin-trained private chef, daily organic breakfast and housekeeping, and a concierge come with the house; helicopter transfers, a private driver, yacht hire, cooking classes and horse-riding are arranged on request. Tennis court, stables and a helipad complete the estate.
