Six houses stand around the formal garden and the frescoed chapel: Villa Ghirlandaio, the main residence, with five king bedrooms; the old farmhouse of La Fattoria and the former oil mill of Il Frantoio; Lo Studio in its own walled garden; the intimate La Bottega; and the lemon house of La Limonaia, now a suite. Together they sleep up to 37, with a pool overlooking Florence, a spa, a gym, the estate restaurant, a concierge and event planning all reserved for you.

The villa
Architecture & restoration
Villa Ghirlandaio, the main house, has two sitting rooms, a fireside dining room and five king bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, opening onto a private garden and a wisteria pergola. La Fattoria (four bedrooms) has a great panoramic terrace over Florence; Il Frantoio (four bedrooms), the old oil mill, a covered porch onto its own garden; Lo Studio (four bedrooms over two floors) a garden of fragrant hedges and fruit trees. La Bottega is a two-bedroom house under a timber truss with a view of the city, and La Limonaia a light-filled suite for two in the old lemon house. Each house has its own kitchen and living space; the pools, spa, gym, restaurant and chapel are shared across the hamlet — by your party alone. Outside are gardens and orchards for dinners al fresco, a brick pizza oven and barbecue, private gated parking and a helipad. The artist who lives on the estate keeps a separate private quarter, sharing only the main entrance, with no access to the houses, pools, spa or gardens.
The setting
Land, view, context
In the rolling, olive-clad hills of Impruneta — famed for its terracotta — fifteen minutes south of Florence: close enough to watch the Duomo rise from the city below, far enough to hear only birdsong. The houses sit around the hamlet's formal Renaissance garden, with the chapel, park and olive groves beyond.
