Villa Lenka stands with aristocratic poise in its own parkland in the southern hills of Lucca — a seventeenth-century villa, built in 1624 as the summer residence of Count Cosimo Bernardini. Frescoed, antique-furnished rooms give an air of unhurried elegance: a grand drawing room, a card room, a panelled library, a Tuscan kitchen and an elegant dining room. Seven en-suite bedrooms sleep up to fourteen. Beyond the windows, Italian gardens fold around a brook that feeds two small lakes shaded by weeping willows, while cypresses and lemon and herb gardens frame the private pool. It is Tuscan living at its most refined.
